We welcomed Kaili’s first litter on 12/19/2011.  She had 3 boys and 1 girl.  All are doing well and we hope to see her kids in the ring in June!

Zinnia and Trey are the proud parents of 3 healthy, happy, and very fat babies.  Born october 18th, we had 2 boys and 1 girl.  Suprisinglly we have at least 1 blue boy!! Zinnia is a terrific mother and loved every minute with her kids.  We are still taking inquires for show or companion.  I will do evaluations at 8 weeks to determine who will be staying with our family and who will be looking for their forever homes.  Pictures will be posted soon!

Ch. Amity Mystical Triple Threat has (Trey) of Acina poodles has been bred to CH. Refinne White Zinfandel (zinnia) who is on lease to Horizon poodles from Jennifer Dege Od refinne Poodles.  Puppies are expected in Mid October, and all should be black.

While Kaili was being groomed for judging at the Westminster show this past February, Jennifer Dege was approached by a gentleman who was setting up a photo shoot for later that evening.  When he gave Jennifer his card she was going to let it go until she flipped the card over to find that the photo shoot was for the magazine “Martha Stewart Living”.  They were doing a special “pets’ section but were not aware when it was going to be published.  After benching was released at Westminster  at 8pm, I took Kaili up to the photo shoot where she was one of only 75 dogs who were asked and  of those only about 20 were published in the November issue.  She was not the only poodle photographed that day,  but it was soon apparent in the shoot that the photographer lover her and where it should have been a 10 minute shoot soon became 30 minutes!!! She ended up being the only poodle published!  I got to view several of the photos and some of them were very nice, unfortunately, not being poodle people, they don’t know what were would go GAGA over.  The one used in the magazine was not my pick but the fact remains that she is in a world renowned magazine.  Check her out in the November 2010 issue.  She is in the index on page 3 and on page 19.  You can also see the behind the scenes of part of the photo shoot at marthastewart.com.  Click on ‘pets’, then click on ‘video’ and on the left hand side down on the page you will see ‘best in show’ click on that and you will see the video. On her retirement weekend in Duluth, Kaili won the variety all 4 days, received a group placement and completed her American Grand Championship.  That afternoon she was enjoying the sun at home without bands in her head for the first time in 4 years.  She was cut down and hasn’t looked back.  She’s currently enjoying her new ‘do’ and all the freedom it entails.  We are looking forward to her babies this fall.

Multiple BIS, Multiple BISS Am//Can CH. Amity Mystical Horizon’s Heaven Sent has come to the end of a spectacular show career.  She is scheduled to be shown for one more weekend at her home show in Duluth, MN.  Shortly there after she will be shaved down to start her new career as a mom. Kaili is due in season in the next couple of monthsand will be bred to CH. Thule Fog of Midnight. We are hoping for Silver, silver, silver, show, show, show puppies but will settle for happy and healthy mom and puppies! Watch for further updates.

Cambridge, MN ended up being a very good weekend for us.  Kaili got 3 group placements and another SPECIALTY BEST IN SHOW at the Twin Cities Poodle Specialty.  That makes 7 for her.  This was all O handled.  Her little sister also finished this weekend.

Still on her winning ways Kaili wins another group O handled in Fort Dodge IA under Dr. robert Smith.  She went on to a group 2 the second day under Norman Patton.

Kaili won the group 1 day in fargo, ND Owner handled.

PCA was interesting this year.  showing under a judge that prefers black made showing all of our “dogs of color” that much more challenging.  We seem to have risen to the occasion,  We took 2nd in the 9-12 dog class and 3rd in the 9-12 bitch class with our brownies!  Kaili made it to the final cut of 3 dogs and 3 bitches.  She was the ONLY dog of color left standing.  She was literally in a sea of black..  She enjoyed every minute of her last BOV PCA appearance,
